Indians move Elarton from restricted list to DL

DETROIT -- The Cleveland Indians moved reliever Scott Elarton to the 15-day disabled list Tuesday for what the club called a non-baseball medical condition. The right-hander was placed on the restricted list June 30 after telling manager Eric Wedge he needed to leave the team for personal reasons.

Elarton (0-1) has appeared in eight games this season.

Wedge said the club planned to call right-hander Juan Rincon from Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday. The reliever signed a minor-league contract June 24, eleven days after he rejected Minnesota's designation to the minors. He was 2-2 with a 6.11 ERA in 24 appearances with the Twins.
